we got max a thing called a learning tower for his birthday -- it's kind of a little treehouse for the kitchen. it's a clever thing. it brings him up just high enough that he can play on the counter or on the sink -- places that have always been right in front of him, but just out of reach. as i write this, he's helping his mom make cupcakes, a first.
